Alicia kosasih, WELL AP, LEED AP ID+C
Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Alicia Kosasih is an interior architectural designer, design researcher, and a self-proclaimed midcentury modern fanatic. She earned her masters degree in Interior Architecture from New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University and bachelors in Operations Management from Boston University. Throughout her professional career, Alicia has been involved in a number of commercial interior projects encompassing multi-family and mixed use amenities, as well as public and private educational environments across New England region, ranging from pre-K-12 to Higher Ed. Her professional & academic works have gained several national recognition, including Outstanding Design from 2021 American School & University Architectural Portfolio, 1st Prize at Design New England Showdown and Best 10 National Student Portfolio from American Society of Interior Designers. She has also committed for continued mentorship in the industry through involvement as Student Mentor at IIDA New England Chapter as well as frequent critic for her alma mater & longtime alumni mentor program.
In addition to her contextual, user-driven design approach, Alicia believes that great design should achieve three essential spatial qualities: honoring the users’ unique cultural backgrounds, celebrating their present lives, and embracing future possibilities through innovative space typologies. She is also a firm believer of adaptive reuse approach in design, and finding creative ways to connect historic past with more contemporary, timeless approach to both spatial and aesthetic qualities of each particular site.
In between her work hours, Alicia enjoys baking, sketching, tinkering with LEGO Architecture bricks and having long walks with her energetic Boston Terrier pup, Truffles. She is currently based in the greater Boston area.
